A few things come to mind when you hear the words Urban Outfitters INC. Levi’s and brassy accessories are ranked pretty high on the list, kinky board games and shag carpets may be up there, but now you can add one more thing: bridal. Today the Urban Outfitters INC., the parent company of Urban Outfitters and Anthropology announced that they will be launching a new bridal store on Valentine’s Day. This left us scratching our heads and in a slight fit of fear of what grungy bride would attempt to stroll down the aisle in Urban Outfitters-like couture. Putting our apprehension to rest, we spotted a few images of the new line, BHLDN via WWD and the pieces are shockingly sweet, demure, classic, and dare we say even girly.

The designers kept in mind the growing change of ideals for traditional brides and weddings. “We’re confident that we’re filling in space that no one’s filling in. We’re offering a take that’s not out there. We have a lot of shorter dresses, lots of color and prints and no optic white dresses. Traditionally, people got married in churches. Now, they’re getting married on beaches and mountain tops. We’re building our assortment for the ultimate end use.” Hmm they must have caught wind of our trashing the dress trend post. Now that the concept is clear, would you consider an Urban Outfitters original for your big day?

Finally! After all of these years, it only took one man to express what we’ve all been desperately trying to get out of our systems. Moms, we know you mean well, but your closed-minded, pushy, know-it-all nature does not help the already stressful situation. There is something about those motherly instincts that seem to go into overdrive when it comes to wedding dress shopping.
We hear that finding the perfect wedding dress can be a little like the proverbial needle in a haystack. Only in this version of the fable, the needle will cost thousands of dollars when you do finally find it! Yay!
