So who is the lucky couple? Drum roll please….The winners are Annie O. and Dave R., a couple from New York getting married this Fall! Annie is a teacher at a ballet school and her fiance Dave is a contractor. My friend and co-worker Annie and her fiance Dave are love birds on a budget, faced with the stultifying task of planning (and paying for!) a New York City wedding. This charming couple definitely deserves to wed like a celeb! Annie and I work for a not-for-profit Ballet school that serves talented and often underprivileged students from all five boroughs. The kids just love Annie, and she loves them. She is one of the sweetest, intelligent, and funny people I know and I couldn’t be happier for her. Dave is a contractor, and get this! Before he popped the question he compiled a big proposal package that he sent to Annie’s folks. The package included letters of recommendation from several of his friends and asked for their approval. How sweet is that?! The two plan to wed at Housing Works Bookstore, which benefits soup kitchens and AIDS research. Annie’s such a nerd, the thought of getting married in the presence of stacks full of books made her giddy as can be. Also, she’s been shopping for her gown at second-hand stores, that’s how tight the budget is. These two are madly in love and will have such a unique and special wedding. Oh how they deserve a luxurious honeymoon! Thanks, and please give them ample consideration!

Coming up with a bridal shower that’s fun for bride and guests can be a tall order – you have to pamper the bride and make it fun for everyone else, too. And then when the big shower day finally comes, you spend so much time running around making sure everything’s perfect that you hardly have a chance to enjoy the day!
Jane Lynch, funnywoman and star of the breakout freshman hit Glee, is getting hitched this month – and she swears she hasn’t been engaging in any stereotypical celebrity bridezilla behavior (though she admits that her Glee character, Sue Sylvester, would be a bridezilla of the highest degree.)
