Spa Week Story Winner #5: Clarins Worked Their Magic

Spa Week is over, but the memories and benefits are everlasting! One of the greatest rewards for us is hearing about how Spa Week has touched your lives. We asked for your Spa Week stories, and this is the week you get to read the 5 winners, who will all receive $50 Spa Week Gift Cards to use for their next spa treatment.

After a long night out, this spa-goer had Clarins work their magic!

I booked my facial at the Clarins Skin Spa the day Spa Week bookings opened. I was so excited that the Clarins Spa on Madison Avenue was included in the curated list of spas! My facial landed on Columbus Day which I luckily had off from work – it was too perfect. With a day off from work of course has to come with a late night out the night before, right? Of course!

I went to my facial a tad… would you say… under the weather? My facialist examined my skin and made the conclusion that my skin was dehydrated.  Yeah… you could say that again. My facialist performed the Clarins tri-active facial treatment on my post party skin. After about 20 minutes I felt rejuvenated and after 40 minutes I felt as if she had unmasked a new layer of skin! And after 60 minutes, I felt like a new person!  This gem of treatment not only rejuvenated my skin but also my day off! Highly recommended.

Spa Week Story Winner #4: Facials Don’t Hurt!

New Yorkers are busy people, so sometimes they have a difficult time relaxing and unwinding at the spa. This is not one of those stories.

Right off the bat I felt at home walking into Mezzanine Spa in SoHo. If only my home was as relaxing and serene! But hey, that’s why some ingenious person invented spas, to give us crazed city-folk a rare and much needed chance to step out of our hectic norms and let our troubles melt away. This is exactly the environment the owners and staff at Mezzanine have created with a feeling of peace in the air, the cleanest of clean lockers, waiting and treatment rooms and a very helpful and smiling staff. I was taken in promptly for my appointments, something I really value as a time crunched New Yorker.

During Spa Week, I had the best facial I have ever had here. And although they did not recommend I have a facial before a massage, there were no other appointments left and the process was very gentle (yet thorough) and non-invasive, so there really was no problem. My skin is still glowing weeks later! I am so glad I went in to Mezzanine or I would have never known that facials do not have to hurt! And I really appreciated the descriptions of what products my facialist was using and the procedures she was doing along the way. I don’t know about you but I love being an educated consumer, especially when it comes to people working on my money maker! It just makes me feel more comfortable and be able to enjoy the entire process more.

Then on to the massage, which was much needed! Don’t get me wrong, I am kind of a massage connoisseur – my favorite ever has been at the Wynn Towers in Las Vegas, so please consider that fact when reading my review!  It was good. That is about all I can say. Not best I’ve ever had, but far from the worst. My massage therapist started me face up, which I found to be a little unusual, but hey I am not traditional so I went with it. She made me feel very comfortable right off the bat and was very friendly and not too talkative. Something I enjoy in a massage therapist is them holding off on the small talk and really letting me enjoy what I paid for!

The overall experience was awesome and I definitely would recommend Mezzanine Spa, especially for the facials.

Spa Week Story Winner #3: A First Time For Everything

Spa Week is over, but the memories and benefits are everlasting! One of the greatest rewards for us is hearing about how Spa Week has touched your lives. Red Door Spa far exceeded this spa goer’s expectations, and just may have gained a fan for life!

This was my first time participating in Spa Week as well as my first time going to a Red Door Spa. I had booked the 50 Min Spa Week Stress Melter Ritual with Exfoliation, Aroma Therapeutic Body Wrap and Relaxing Scalp Massage. I was not sure what to expect, but I knew they were probably booked solid so I somewhat expected a rushed service and a not so friendly technician who had been on her feet all day.

From the moment I walked in I got a totally different vibe than I expected, the staff was friendly the spa was so clean and relaxing and my service did not feel rushed at all. This was one of the best services I have ever had at a spa. I left feeling relaxed yet rejuvenated, my skin felt great and I am still in shock I got all of that for only $50!  I think I will now be a ‘Spa Weeker’ for life.

Spa Week Story Winner #2: The Big C and Time With Friends

Spa Week is over, but the memories and benefits are everlasting! One of the greatest rewards for us is hearing about how Spa Week has touched your lives. This one especially touched our hearts; sometimes it takes hardship to highlight the important things in life.

My friend Maureen and I visited LIFE SPA in Florham Park during Spa Week. Maureen is a 7 year breast cancer survivor who considers her cancer a “blessing.” It made her re-evaluate her life and choose the things most important to her, given the new lease on life. Spending time with friends is one of the things on the top of her list.

We were rubbed and scrubbed with massages and facials. We relaxed in the hot tub with waterfalls pounding on our shoulders, we steamed away leftover stress and cleared our heads in the eucalyptus steam room, and melted away the rest in the sauna. After using the wonderful locker room facilities we ended our day at the Life Cafe enjoying a delicious lunch.

Spa Week gives us a definite time frame to get together to relax and recharge in our hectic lives.

Spa Week Story Winner #1: 45 Minute Miracle

Spa Week is over, but the memories and benefits are everlasting! One of the greatest rewards for us is hearing about how Spa Week has touched your lives. We asked for your Spa Week stories, and this is the week you get to read the 5 winners, all who will receive $50 Spa Week Gift Cards to use for their next spa treatment.

Spa Week Story veteran winner, Madeline, has contributed (and won) once again!

I had been intrigued about the Catio Express non-surgical face lift at the Tribeca Spa of Tranquility for quite some time. Given that I’m a Spa Week regular at the spa (because they never fail to treat me like a princess there) and know that every service they offer always worked, I decided to give it a try. My aesthetician, Sara, started by giving me a basic cleansing, and then the fun began. I started feeling these vibrating sensations on parts of my face as Sara moved the equipment around. Even though I wouldn’t call it relaxing, it wasn’t uncomfortable at all (and I kept telling myself that it had gotta be better than going under the knife). After finishing the right side of my face, she gave me a mirror and I could see the puffiness under my eye was dramatically minimized, and my cheek was also fuller. She then proceeded to work on the other side, followed by a soothing mask and a quick shoulder massage. The shoulder and belly warmers were what I loved about this spa – their constant attention to details showed how they always strive to make sure the clients were pampered.

Forty five  minutes later, I walked to the front desk and bought 6 more facials to use for later. I guess that said enough about how happy I was with the results. My skin felt tighter, smoother, which you may get from any other facials, but the difference was that my face contour was also more flattering. It literally changed from a round face shape to a heart face shape (in a matter of 45 minutes!!!), and the sagging skin under the chin also disappeared.

Last but not the least, the services were impeccable. You don’t get pushed around just because it’s Spa Week and they’re busier than usual. You get the same service you always get even though you’re paying a discounted price. Everyone who works there is so courteous and attentive, and the spa always looks clean and elegant. And most importantly, you walk out of there feeling like a million bucks – even though you only spent $50 (in this case the Catio Express was $89 but it was worth every penny!).
