I wasn’t kidding when I said in the Spa Crawl Video to take advantage and TRY AS MANY $50 SPA TREATMENTS AS POSSIBLE DURING SPA WEEK®. Well, how hypocritical I would be if I didn’t go through with it myself? In the spirit of wellness, relaxation, overindulgence and experimentation, for each of the 7 days of Spa Week, Monday April 12th through Sunday April 18th, I tried out and live-broadcasted an unusual spa treatment from one of our nearly 800 spas.

From a Caviar Facial to Colon Hydrotherapy to Botox to Vajazzling… my Spa Week got a little crazy.

Why? It’s all in the name of bringing the spa lifestyle to real life, answering your questions, and making you fully aware of what to expect inside any treatment. Banish the fear of awkward or intimidating situations at the spa by getting acquainted with the process beforehand.

Click the links below each treatment; there’s been absolutely NO EDITING. Learn, live vicariously, and then go experience it for yourself!

Girl’s Night Out Bronzing Facial Glow at SKINNY MedSpa, NYC

skinny-medspaThe hair, the outfit, the shoes, the game plan… getting ready for a big night out takes no small amount of thought or work! While you may have a makeup routine you stick to, have you ever considered prepping for a night out by hitting the spa for a medical facial?

I hadn’t either, until I tried out one of the Spa Week treatments being offered at the newly opened SKINNY Medspa in New York City: The Girl’s Night Out Bronzing Facial Glow. It’s a medical facial that gets down to business with a Clarisonic cleansing session and a glycolic chemical peel, but unlike many medical facials that send you home with sensitive looking and feeling skin, this facial preps you for a night on the town with a sexy, dewy, bronzing, glowing finish.

I didn’t even have plans to go out that night… but once I got this facial, you bet I made some! It was a great night too… everything’s better when you’re bronze. Here’s the video inside the spa:

Little Luxury Report: Carol’s Daughter Lemon and Rose Hand Cream

logo3
Today we invited Anne Fritz of The Jet Set Girls to tell us about one her favorite Little Luxuries. Turns out, it’s a gem from Carol’s Daughter, one of our New York Spa Week spas!

The Little Luxury: Carol’s Daughter Lemon and Rose Hand Cream

Relationship Status: It’s a bedtime essential right up there with brushing, removing my makeup and kissing my man good night. But in terms of luxury, it’s like taking a bubble bath without the soap and water.

Richer than Carlos Slim! Carol’s Daughter Lemon and Rose Hand Cream really does it best. I’ve tried just about every hand cream on the market and this is the only one that has as much staying power as the cellulite on my thighs.

Advice for new Carol’s Daughter Lemon and Rose Hand Cream users: A little bit goes a long way. It’s only sold in a 2 oz jar for a reason. On that note, you need to hide it from your roommate, kids, hubby, coworkers, etc.

Naturally… Like all Carol’s Daughter products, it’s paraben-free with no petroleum, mineral oil or artificial color.

Afternoon Tea for your Hands: The lemon and rose scent is sweet without being cloying, kind of like a cross between lemon pound cake and a cup of tea. I’ve never worn cotton gloves at night with regular cream, but I imagine the results are similar.

Good Things Come In Small Packages: Carolsdaughter.com, $12 for 2 oz.

Indulge in Carol’s Daughter during Spa Week 2010!
For extra decadence, visit the hidden Back Room Spa at the Harlem store and indulge in a 90 Minute Rose Petal Ritual, available for $50 during Spa Week. (Check their listing in our Spa Directory) After soaking your hands in rose petals, milk, coconut and tapioca which softens skin and cuticles, the manicurist slathers your hands with Lemon and Rose Hand Cream. Your hands will clap for joy.

We sent Patrice from Afrobella to the prestigious Ruby Room in Chicago to try out the acupuncture they are offering during Spring 2010 Spa Week, and we were thrilled to be the catalyst to her newfound mindset of spiritual spa-going.
