Lori Neapolitano: “Priming” LA for a Beautiful End of Summer
Lori Neapolitano is one of YOUR NAME ® Professional Brands’ master educators and in her years of training other professional makeup artists, as well as working on everyone from brides to A-list celebrities, Lori has compiled more than a few must-have makeup tips for every woman’s summer time bag of tricks.
According to Lori, summer makeup application requires an entirely different skill set than is necessary during the other three seasons.
- First and foremost, when the temperature rises, skip the foundation. Instead, Lori suggests using a primer like YOUR NAME®’s Pore Perfecting Face Primer for the entire face. The lightweight, oil-free formula reduces the size of pores and simultaneously combats the frustrating shine that is the bane of summer complexions.
- Another major summertime complaint is eye shadow that doesn’t stand its ground. An industry trick to make eye shadow stick in even hottest, stickiest conditions gives SKINSYNC’s Pro-T Dual Action Makeup Remover a dual purpose: wet your powdered eye shadow with the makeup remover and then use the slightly moistened product for shadow and liner. It will last all day!

Daphne Guinness emerged in an amazingly bold, head-to-toe feathered McQueen. We wouldn’t wear this ourselves but kudos to Daphne for honoring the man of the night.
This wouldn’t be a best dressed list sans a Diane Kruger appearance or that of her legs of steel. The beauty opted for a hot Jason Wu that screamed seductive siren. We like this look a lot.
Emma Stone was absolutely gorgeous in her black and white floral Lanvin. She worked a fun neon pink lip while exuding so much class and elegance.
Sarah Jessica Parker, who was a close friend of McQueen honored him by donning a sparkly number. The look leaned more on the safe side, but we’ll take it.
Blake Lively posed with Karl Lagerfeld in Chanel Couture.
Beyonce showed up on the arm of hubby Jay-Z in a skin tight Pucci. Word spread around Twitter that she was booed by photographers because she couldn’t even move in the dress.
Ginnifer Goodwin stole the show in an emerald green cut-out Topshop Unique! We’ll forever question why a Topshop dress owned a couture red carpet.
Gisele Bündchen was gorgeous, but what else is new.
Christina Ricci brought the drama in a webby Zac Posen which fits her off-beat style.
Another name known for beating to her own drum was Rihanna who wore a lace one-sleeve Stella McCartney and a huge braid.
