Little Luxury Review: Clinique Body Butter

The Little Luxury:
Clinique’s Deep Comfort Body Butter

Relationship Status: Long-term commitment.

Application trick: Apply fresh out of the shower to lock in moisture.

Why it’s worth telling you about: For dry, winter skin, it’s a miracle in a jar. Actually, I told you about it yesterday too, in our roundup of 14 beauty bloggers’ favorite face and body moisturizers. (I really, really like it…)

I can’t believe it’s not butter! Yes, it looks delicious and spreadable, but in fact would taste terrible on toast.

Don’t be afraid to… Slap on as much as you want. It’s thick though, so it can also be used sparingly too with great results.

Why it’s better than drugstore brands: I’ve used a lot of lotions, but this one does the best job of making your skin feel like BUTTA”!

Butter yourself up: For $25 a jar, available at Sephora.

Little Luxury Review: RapidLash Serum

The Little Luxury: RapidLash Eyelash Enhancing Serum, $49.95 RapidLash.com

Relationship status: Fully committed with eyebrow raising results

As seen in: OK! Magazine, Life & Style and the Fall 2011 Spa Week Media Gift Bags

How to use: Apply like eyeliner to the top and bottom lash line of both eyes. Additionally, can be used to thicken and darken eyebrows with daily application.

Does it do what it says it’ll do? YES! My lashes were darker and longer and my brows were fuller in just 3 weeks.

The moment I fell in love: The day I left my eyebrow filler pencil at home.

Advice for first time user: Don’t get discouraged and give up if you don’t see results right away – some things are worth the wait!

What’s more: It’s dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested; cruelty, paraben and fragrance free.

Best of all: No more clumped up, spider lashes or crusty dried out mascara tubes to fuss with.

Tame The Mane With Ouidad, “The Curl Experts”

<——— Hi there… meet me!

You may know me from my brief stints as a berry guru for Spa Week Daily, and also as the master of hair removal, but what you may not have known about me is that I have super curly hair, AND that I am in love with each and every ringlet.

As I’m sure many of you with curly hair can understand, attaining the perfect level of curl is a near impossible feat to achieve. Over the years I have tried product after product – searching for something that defines my curls but leaves them feeling light and soft.

With hundreds of dollars spent and years both come and gone, I had yet to find something that got it just right, until I was introduced to the product lines from Spa Week’s Fall 2011 Exclusive Hair Care Sponsor, Ouidad.

I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical at first. Lots of companies claim to have the magic touch for defined curls – what made Ouidad so different?  Still, I was willing to give it a try. After all, any hair care brand with the nickname “The Curl Experts” had to have that name put to the test.

I was tasked with trying two products: Moisture Lock Leave-In Conditioner and Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel

The first product I tried was the Moisture Lock Leave-In Conditioner. Infused with Prickly Pear Cactus Extract, Green Tea and Vitamin B5, this treatment is supposed to seal the hair cuticle prevent frizz and encourage healthier looking hair.

After washing my hair, I took a dollop of the cream, and spread it evenly through my hair.

Next up was the Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel. This was the biggie! Controlling frizz and flyaways is one of my main goals, and that is exactly what this product said it would do using a combination of amino acids and Vitamin A.

While my hair was still damp, I took a “nickel-size dollop” as instructed on the back of the bottle and ran it through my hair.

The end result……….

Defined curls with minimal frizz! SCORE! (and they were soft too)

All in all, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the products from Ouidad worked. For once a product actually did something that it said it would do. I am now a firm believer in the slogan “The Curl Experts” because they certainly know what they’re talking about.

Oh, and just in case, you think it won’t work for your type of curls, think again. Erin, my fellow SpaWeeker took the Ouidad challenge too. Check Erin’s usual curly look, and then her before and after shots using Ouidad (she used a diffuser too) —>

Little Luxury Report: AG Split End Spa

The Little Luxury: AG Split End Spa

Relationship status: We’ll never split.

Seriously, it’s a spa for your split ends: Let your hair put on a fluffy white robe and an Enya soundtrack as it gets pampered with a few pumps of AG each day.

For Rapunzel-Wannabes: This hair serum has been extraordinarily successful in preventing me from getting split ends, and thus helping my hair grow. It’s grown noticeably faster since I started using it, and the quality has been more lustrous than ever!

Confession: I am way overdue for a trim. Maybe 4 months overdue. But in all honesty, I’m completely shocked at how healthy my hair has kept, and I attribute it to the Split End Spa. If anyone asks, I totally trimmed it last week, k?

It’s pretty easy: After washing your hair, dispense 2-3 squirts in your hands, and then run through your damp hair, concentrating on the ends.

Who should use it? It’s color-safe containing AG’s CARE Complex, so this “spa” is good for anyone who wants to add a dose of healthy vibrancy to their locks.

Okay, so you REALLY want longer hair? This was one of 4 ways to make your hair grow faster – click for some good foods to eat for longer locks, along with other tips from the pros.

Gotta git git! It’s $24 on ULTA, or you can pick it up at Senses NY where Brucey first introduced forced me to start using this magical cream that he swears by for all his clients.
