Playlist: Family Bonding Music

They say home is where the heart is, and with the holidays right around our hearts are filled with thoughts of good food and good laughs to follow suit. Whether it’s spent cheering together at a football game or passing food around the table, quality family time is so precious. As it does in all realms, music has played a big role in making those family memories come to life. One of our all time family family songs, “We Are Family” by Sister Sledge brings back memories of sticking together no matter what. Some other tunes that come to mind when thinking of family are, “Family Affair” by Sly and The Family Stone, “Lullaby” by Billy Joel and the O’Jays “Family Reunion”. More feel good family music below.

Playlist: Indie Summer

It’s gonna be an Indie Summer.

You already got your tickets to Bonaroo and Lollapalooza, you text with at least 6 very skinny guitarists on the regular, and your iPod is loaded with hundreds of songs that nobody—literally nobody—has heard. Or maybe you just secretly wish you were that cool.

Either way, kicking back to  indie music in the summertime is as essential as sunset barbecues and a highly flattering bathing suit. Enjoy this mix, pair it with some sangria in the backyard, blast in on your road trip to Tennessee, and be that cool.

Guest DJ: Fashion Editor and Indie Die-Hard, Sabrina Alexis of A New Mode
