Fashion Under $50: Granny-Chic Floral

May flowers have begun their annual pilgrimage back into our wardrobes, and they sure are coming by the boatload. Large watercolor patterns, tiny flower designs, crocheted flowered dresses, flowers all over shoes… the trend is sweeping the season. With the dizzying  flurry of fashion-aromatherapy, the trend that’s risen to the top is none other than some incredible traditional rosy granny-chic patterns. Antique floral prints have been updated and modernized by the clothing and accessories they’re splashed on. So first go raid Grandma’s closet, then check out these 8 fun blossoming finds, each for less than a Spa Week treatment. Just don’t wear them all at once!

Chanel Cruise Collection 2011 – 4 Dominant Trends

One of the most highly anticipated fashion events of the year took place this week in a stone paved pavilion in Saint Tropez. What else could we be referring to but a Karl Lagerfeld Chanel Resort runway show. At the top of every summer, the resort collection notoriously sets the tone for summer fashion and the attitude of women attempting to recreate the high priced look. Based on what we can see, the collection was heavily inspired by the jet-setter traveling to exclusive destinations with one bag just large enough to carry her vacation wardrobe.

A hopeful sign for the summer fashion outlook, the models strolled down the runway in alluring flowing ruffles, dainty gingham print bathing suits, sophisticated stripes, and sweet color block dresses. A huge departure from Lagerfeld’s hairy fall 2010 collection. Models arrived on set in lavish motorboats and strutted down the cement runway barefoot. Who needs shoes when you’re young, rich and having fun? Biggest surprises of the show included a plus-sized Crystal Renn, walking not once but twice and Georgia Mae Jagger closed out the show on the back of a motorcycle with her dad’s tune “Let’s Spend the Night Together” playing in the background. Check out some of our favorite looks below.
