Spa Week Extended: Get Pampered Like a DEVA

We sent dozens bloggers all across the country to preview some Spa Week appointments to give you a sneak peek at Fall Spa Week’s #50dollartreatments everywhere! Now, let’s take a look back at Stephanie from PrettyCity‘s Spa Week Sneak Peek feature. She visited Deva Spa in NYC and tried the 45 Minute Facial that they were offering for Spa Week for just $50 each. NEWSFLASH! Deva Spa is EXTENDING their $50 Spa Week specials until October 30 – all the more reason to find out all about this facial from Stephanie.

Upon Arrival: “After check in, the expertly trained staff escort you into the women’s lounge prepped with everything you would need to primp yourself for the day; showers, sauna, and a get-ready station equipped with hair dryer, hair styling products, mouthwash, etc.”

Relaxing With Snacks: “Once you don your lush white robe and flip flops, you head into the waiting area. The space is a relaxation oasis in itself before you even get to your treatment. You can lounge next to the bamboo waterfall in the wicker chairs with your feet up on the the matching ottomans while noshing on healthy bites like crudité and granola bars.”

In Her Own Words: “Cleo [the esthetician] cleansed, toned, exfoliated, masked, and moisturized my skin with Phytomer, a marine cosmetics line that the spa uses. Cleo explained that since this was a moisturizing facial, it is fitting for all skin types.

The Best Part: “The reason I felt that this facial was so different from any other facial I’ve previously had is because Cleo also worked pressure points around my face and upper neck that put me into the utmost feeling of zen. I cannot remember the last time I was able to let all of the tension out of my body… this is Manhattan after all!”

Why You Should Go: “The treatment was over before I knew it, but I felt that I had absolutely gotten more than I had bargained for and cannot wait for the next time I treat myself there. This is definitely an experience I will be repeating in the near future!”

Spa Week Story#2: The Traffic Cure

Spa Week is over, but the memories and benefits are everlasting! One of the greatest rewards for us is hearing about how Spa Week has touched your life. We asked for your Spa Week stories, and this is the week you get to read the 5 winners, all who will receive $50 Spa Week Gift Cards to use for their next spa treatment.

We’ve all been there. Faces with the looming fear of having to cancel an anticipated spa appointment due to a thick row of cars on Fifth Avenue your cab driver can’t seem to get around. Don’t panic! Well you shouldn’t if you’re like Valerie headed to Deva Spa for a $50 Spa Week treatment.

Spa Week Story #2

I love my Deva Spa in New York City, but there is nothing like traffic in the city to try your patience, and tie your nerves into the tightest stress knots.  On the day of my pampering, traffic was particularly bad from river to river.  One detour after another only left me trapped in a gridlock nightmare that tormented me with the threat of canceling my 3 hours of 3 Spa Week treatments! Oh nooo!  I was determined not to give up.  However, instead of arriving 20 minutes early as planned, I arrived an hour late!!

Grrrrr!  Suffice it to say, my pedicurist and my esthetician had their work cut out for them to de-stress this client.  But alas, it was a piece of cake for them!  Or should I say a piece of Biscotti, a nice pot of hot Chamomile tea, and absolutely the most luxurious pedicure and foot massage ever!  I’ve been rescued!  Then came my body scrub and facial, which left me truly glowing and grinning from ear to ear!  All the staff were so reasonable  and accommodating and professional in helping me to feel so relaxed and comfortable, that I had tears of joy.  Afterwards, when my husband came to pick me up, I could not stop raving about my heavenly Deva Spaaaa expericene all the way home! And that made him very happy too.

Video Recap: Spa Week Media Party Fall 2010

Spa Week Media Party

It’s amazing how quickly six months can pass by – before we knew it, it was October 7th. We were serving up Spa Breezes and Rioja Wine in the lavish Prince George Ballroom at the Fall 2010 Spa Week Media Party. While some guests enjoyed PitiCures™ by Dove Deodorant, others enjoyed make-unders by Bare Escentuals. Many were snacking on DOLE Real Fruit Bites and getting silly in the Dole photo booth, then getting mini-treatments courtesy of Sphatika, Deva Spa, Vada Spa and Sothys, 4 top NYC spas. Let’s not forget manicures from the Spa Chicks and, oh, a sugar-rushing chocolate fountain to celebrate a whole week of $50 spa treatments!

The night rang in with the Spa Week crew, 430 editors, bloggers, producers and television personalities who all have a special affinity for the spa. Guests were spotted mingling and talking about the treatments they had lined up for the week. Smart crowd too – many took on the Hanky Panky Trivia Challenge on the red carpet, where contestants answered spa questions to win crystallized Spa Week Hanky Panky panties.

Guests concluded their evening by taking home the highly coveted Spa Week Gift Bag which included Febreze Flameless Luminaries, EcoTools ecoPOUF bath sponges, Joico Shampoo and Conditioner and Caswell-Massey Cucumber Eye Pads among many other pampering goodies.

We can’t thank you all enough for making Spa Week a success and helping us ring in wellness and relaxation in anticipation for the #50dollartreatments. View the full video recap below, as Michelle interviews guests on the red carpet and takes you on a tour de par-tay.
