Bachelorette Jen Schefft’s Bridal Blog

Amidst all of The Bachelor buzz (which, frankly, I am totally sick of because it’s clearly a ratings scam), I found out some great news about my favorite Bachelorette alumni, Jen Schefft. She has teamed up with WeddingChannel.com to launch her very own blog! Jen Schefft’s Bridal Blog will chronicle her own wedding preparation (she got engaged to Joe Waterman in September 2008) as well as provide advice to other brides.

Jen first appeared during the third season of The Bachelor with dreamy (but sorta slimy) Andrew Firestone. Jen was the last woman standing but, in true Bachelor form, they broke up. Jen appeared in the next Bachelorette but, again, went home empty-handed as she turned down not one but two proposals. But it just goes to show that you should never settle because now she is planning her dream wedding with her perfect guy.

“He keeps telling me it’s my day and only steps in when I need his advice. What can I say? I’m a lucky girl.”

Congratulations Jen!

Give Back On Your Wedding Day

Good karma is a running theme around Spa Week. It seems we’re all aware that in this bleak economy, a little good deed can really go the distance. Our partners, WeddingChannel.com are stepping up to the plate by offering two ways you can turn your wedding registry a philanthropic effort.

When you set up your gift registry you can choose to allow WeddingChannel.com to make a donation to a charity of your choice. It doesn’t cost you or your guests anything; WeddingChannel.com pays it all as a ‘Thank You’ for using their registry. If you really want to make your Special Day extra meaningful, you can sign up to have your guests donate to a charity, or several charities, directly. WeddingChannel.com can set it up so the organizations nearest and dearest to your heart are taken care of.

Come on. You don’t really need that silver gravy boat, do you?
