This Workout Wednesday we previewed the new Fall Fitness Classes at New York Health and Racquet Club – get ready to have some fun while you break a sweat!
We were invited to a get a sneak peek of the new workout classes that launched this month at New York Health and Racquet Club, and we have to admit we were very impressed! The top-notch gyms across the city are offering a range of creative new classes at various intensity levels, meaning there’s seriously something for everyone!
During our Fall Fitness preview, we got the chance to try out three of NYHRC’s thoughtfully designed classes – all of which we loved. What’s even better is that they all offer a fun way to make your fitness a priority this fall, and keep you looking and feeling your best all year round.
Doonya Abs – If you’ve seen a Bollywood film, you’ve likely noticed the high-energy, free-spirited dancing that originated in India. Led by Priya Pandya and Rohan Sheth, this global fusion class combines cardio, isometrics and “Bollywood Burpies” to engage the core and flatten the belly. Classes are available in a 15-minute or 45-minute format and are held Thursdays at 6pm at 23rd Street.
Inside Out – Taught by experienced dancer Nathan Kosla, this classes is perfect if you want to build a strong, athletic physique. Nathan infuses his signature sense of humor to make the core strengthening, extreme toning techniques bearable, but you should still prepare for those muscles to shake! Classes are held Wednesdays at 12:45pm at 6th Ave, Thursdays at 5:30pm at 45th Street, Fridays at 12:15pm at 50th Street and Saturdays at 4:45pm at 13th Street.
Yin Flow Yoga – Merely being in the presence of instructor Danielle Lee is enough to transport you into a state of total relaxation, especially when combined with deep, powerful stretches. This class embraces the yin yoga technique of holding poses for an extended amount of time to target the connective tissue and open up the joints. If you suffer from hip, lower spin or pelvic problems, this class should be your go-to. Classes are held on Wednesdays at 7:15pm at 76th Street.
