If you’ve made it past the first grade, you probably know at least one or two things about beans. They’re good for your heart, for starters. But according to this article from SHAPE.com, there’s an even better reason to incorporate beans into your diet in a big way.

It appears that regular bean eaters have smaller waistlines AND a 22% lower risk of obesity. That’s nothing to snuff at! This weight-loss super food is full of fiber (one cup of black beans has 15 grams!), protein, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.
