Oh, thank the Lord & Taylor! It finally got a #Facelift. After a yearlong $20 million renovation at their 5th Ave. flagship location, Lord & Taylor unleashed itself unto the editors, bloggers and shopping privé of NY. It was a circus in there! Flowered ladies on stilts and full jazz band greeted the guests on the red carpet, and aerialists flipped from the ceiling of the first floor above waiters toting champagne.
Each of the seven floors was a different ring, with The Ultimate treat on each. Mixologists from places like Spot Dessert, The Gin-Gin Mule and Pegu Club, and food from La Vida Café made the second floor The Ultimate Taste. Several floors were dedicated to sound, as the whole evening benefitted VH1′s Save The Music foundation. A 20-piece Latin Jazz Band from the New Brunswick Public School rocked the third floor, while the MS4 keyboard ensemble and the Martin Center for the Arts Legacy Band performed on the fifth. The show stealer of the night, however, was when Ciara brought down the house on the ninth floor.
In our spa world, we would prefer to make our facelifts untwitterable (and less than $20 million) but with a party that grand, this Twitter topic took followers for a sweet peek into the new big top. Lord & Taylor, your #facelift is the talk of the town. Check out the video:
They also have a full lineup of events this week for your shopping pleasure and entertainment. Check out the schedule.
