Spa Gone Wrong: Kourtney Kardashian Gives Khloe a Brazilian? (Plus 20 Hot Waxing Deals!)

There’s an old Vietnamese proverb that proclaims sisters are as close as hands and feet. While that may be true, there are just some body parts that you should keep to yourself. Those crazy Kardashians pushed the ewww factor to the limit when Kourtney offered to give Khloe a Brazilian wax. All the spas on the west coast must have been booked up for months for these two to do such a thing.

After watching the video we can understand the situation, but in lieu of an embarrassing  on-camera moment, we’ll stick to the traditionally independent route and just go to a spa or waxing salon. We rounded up 20 of our our hottest (pun intended) waxing spa deals for June and July so that on your own time you can go and be as free as a Kardashian.

ENTER TO WIN: Glowology Scrub At Home Set!

Summer days can mean cool breezes and the sand between your toes – they can also mean melting makeup, sweat-clogged pores, itchy dead skin, lotion & deodorant buildup…and ew. We just grossed ourselves out.

Sounds like the doctor ordered a sugar scrub to reveal fresh, clean, summer-soft skin. But if you’re like us and you can’t make it to the spa for a weekly rubdown, it’s time to call Sugar Mama Honey Scrub and Bubbling Exfoliant from Glowology into service to help you scrub-a-dub your way to a spa worthy glow in your own shower.

WIN THE SET! (3 Winners)

A perfect bath and post-shave treat, Sugar Mama Honey Scrub is a decadent delight for you and yours, completely calorie-free. With a feather light cotton candy consistency, ultra-fine sugar is spun into honey, and then blended with shea butter, organic olive and sunflower seed oils to deliver an indulgent bath experience. Deliciously rich and highly effective, this body scrub gently exfoliates to remove dead surface skin cells, leaving skin silky soft, smooth and ultra-moisturized.

Key Ingredients:
Aloe Vera
– Provides moisture to soften, soothe and comfort skin.
Honey – Creates a water-tight film, allowing skin to rehydrate itself. Moisturizing, softening, sweet and fragrant.
Olive Oil – Moisturizes, protects and nourishes skin. It is very beneficial for dry or damaged skin.
Shea Butter – Protects skin’s suppleness while providing moisture to improve the appearance of dry skin.
Sugar Cane – Helps to dissolve and remove the outer layer of dead skin cells. By decreasing the thickness of dead cells on the surface, a new layer of skin with a smoother texture and a more uniform color can be revealed.

A soothing shower secret with gentle exfoliating properties to smooth and soften skin for luxurious results you can see. With the Bubbling Exfoliant, tiny bubbles dance with oats and honey to gently remove dead surface skin cells without over-drying. Creamy, yet still lightweight, it’s formulated with skin-enriching emollients, that leave skin refreshed and primed for moisturization.
Key Ingredients:
Coconut Oil – Conditions skin, relieves dryness and flaking, prevents wrinkles and protects from the damaging effects of UV radiation from sun. Lathers readily and softens skin.
Glycerin – Absorbs moisture from the air and thereby helps products retain moisture. It improves the spreadability of products and provides skin moisturizing benefits.
Honey – Creates a water-tight film, allowing skin to rehydrate itself. Moisturizing, softening, sweet and fragrant.
Soybean Oil – Provides a dose of natural vitamin E, to moisturize and soothe.

Little Luxury Report: Instant Breast Lifts!

logo3

The Little Luxury: “The Original” Bring It Up Instant Breast Lift!

Nickname: Perkyset

Relationship status: We got to second base.

How they work: These horseshoe-shaped adhesives give your twins a lift—not by cradling from the bottom—by hoisting from the top. Peel off the sticker-back on the bottom half, rub down above and around your nipple. Okay stop rubbing. Then pull up until your nipple points to the moon, peel off the other half of the backing, and press down to secure. Repeat.

Hmmm… sounds like it wouldn’t work. I know, I was skeptical too… Turns out they do a nice job of holding them up an keeping them in nice shape.

It’s a tad bit nipply: Which is fine, because a little nip is so 2010! When you’re aiming for that easy-breezy no-bra-because-I’m-that-cool summertime look, this bolder-holder alternative will give the illusion minus the gravity.

ANY size? Cut it out! Yup, each lift em up is built for a D cup, so if you’resmaller you have cut it along a perforated line to match your size. However, I’m a C and couldn’t find my scissors, and the full size worked just fine. (If you’re a double D or bigger, I’m not sure if they would have the same effect. Someone try and let us know!)

What do you wear them with? They are a great alternative to your nipple stickers and sticky gel bra cups that you wear with backless and otherwise complicated tops.  It has to be the right shirt though– they won’t work with everything. If you want that hippie look, try them with a thin tee. They are waterproof, so you can try them with your bikini. Want to feel extra Barbie doll? Use them for an additional lift with another bra.

Throw caution to the wind: (and hopefully not your blouse…) These bad boys left evidence in the form of sticky residue on my breasts, and it took 2 showers to wash off the gook.  I’m sure if I was really trying I could have scrubbed it off in one, but don’t say I didn’t warn you and your ladies. (This just in–the @bringitup team says just use a little baby oil and the gook should come right off.)

Cheaper than a boob job: $19.99 for a pack of 8 pair at Bringitup.com

1 Food 3 Ways: Multigrain Pasta

Pasta is the ultimate in cheap eatin’, the fave of college kids and budget-conscious families everywhere. And even though there’s nothing inherently bad about the typical semolina pasta you chow down on at your favorite Italian joint, you can power-up your pasta fixation on the cheap by swapping regular pasta for nutrient-packed multigrain pasta. Multigrain pasta will work in your beloved spaghetti and alfredo, but the slightly nutty, complex flavors of multigrain pasta also lend themselves to taste creations all their own. Try these three healthy choices for a cost-saving yet delightfully different dinner!

Multigrain Pasta with Veggie Salad

1 box multigrain pasta
2 tablespoons oil
1 cup broccoli florets
1/2 cup green beans
1/2 cup diced carrots
1/cup diced tomatoes
1/2 cup sliced onions
1/2 cup frozen peas, thawed
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
5 ounces Italian dressing

1. Cook the pasta according the instructions located on the box.
2. Drain and toss with 2 tablespoons of oil, cool on a sheet pan.
3. Prepare all of the raw vegetables as listed. Combine with the dry seasonings in a large bowl. Dress with the Italian dressing.
4. Cover and chill then toss with the cooled pasta.

Multigrain Pasta with Sweet Potatoes and Leeks
  12 ounces multigrain penne
4 teaspoons olive oil
3 leeks (white and light green parts), cut into half-moons
3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
1/4 cup fresh sage, chopped
2 small sweet potatoes (about 1 pound), peeled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
kosher salt and pepper
3/4 cup grated Parmesan
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1. Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup of the cooking water.
2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the leeks and cook, stirring, until they begin to soften, 4 minutes. Stir in the garlic and sage and cook 2 minutes. Add the sweet potato, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper and cook, covered, stirring twice, until just tender, 6 to 8 minutes.
3. Stir in 1/2 cup of the Parmesan and the reserved cooking water and simmer, stirring, until the potatoes are fully tender, 2 to 4 minutes.
4. Add the cooked pasta and nutmeg and toss. Divide among individual bowls and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.

Multi-Grain Pasta with Sicilian Salsa Verde, Cabbage, and Haricots Verts

1/2 14.5-ounce package multi-grain spaghetti (the Bon Appétit Test Kitchen used Barilla Plus) or whole wheat pasta
3/4 cup coarsely chopped Italian parsley
6 tablespoons olive oil, divided
3 tablespoons drained capers
3 anchovy fillets
3 garlic cloves, chopped, divided
6 cups thinly sliced savoy cabbage
1/2 12-ounce bag frozen haricots verts (slender green beans), thawed
1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese, divided
Cook pasta in large pot of boiling salted water until just tender but still firm to bite, stirring occasionally. Drain, reserving 1 cup pasta cooking liquid.
Meanwhile, puree parsley, 4 tablespoons oil, capers, anchovies, and 1/3 of chopped garlic in mini processor.
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add cabbage; sauté until wilted, about 3 minutes. Add haricots verts and remaining garlic; toss 1 minute. Add 3/4 cup cheese, pasta, and 2/3 cup pasta cooking liquid, then parsley mixture from processor. Toss until sauce coats pasta, adding more pasta cooking liquid if dry, about 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Serve, passing remaining 3/4 cup cheese separately.
