Last night, Harper’s Bazaar Editor in Chief Glenda Bailey hosted a shopping party and Spring 2010 trunk show with Derek Lam at his flagship store in SoHo, New York City. Belted furs and structured capes highlighted his Fall collection, and a spectrum of bright blues mixed with elaborate prints offered a vibrant Spring preview.
The guests had a collective eye on the prize: one $1000 Derek Lam shopping spree. A brief moment of disappointment ensued as the winner’s name was called and nobody yelled BINGO – she had left for the night while the rest of us waited it out, bearing the burden of champagne refills in a room of Derek’s beautiful clothes, friends and supporters.

I had a moment to chat with the delightful Glenda Bailey; if Anna is the ice queen, Glenda’s the queen at the royal tea party. I asked her what her favorite spa is, and in her most charming British accent Glenda told me that she is too busy with work and by choice does not go to the spa unless she’s on holiday. “You work so hard though! You deserve it often. Can we send you to the spa?” I offered, and she laughed. I hope she secretly has an appointment booked for today.
Do you ever feel like your busy schedule keeps you away from the spa?
