A few weeks ago I told you that I would not only provide you with all things fun and fabulous in the world of spa, but that I’d focus on the experiential. So from time to time I’ll bring my personal camera and film a beauty treatment that’s either garnering a lot of buzz, a celebrity favorite, or just plan bizarre.

This week I decided to try out the controversial bird poop facial at Shizuka Salon in New York. You’ve heard about it on The Today Show, CNN, and ABC’s The View, but you probably haven’t been privileged to seeing the experience unprocessed —I had no script, agenda, or even mic! I wanted to capture the Geisha Facial in its entirety, droppings and all.
